62 Chapter 19 Pilate kept trying to release Him. But the Jews shouted If you release this fellow you arent Caesars friend. Everyone who sets himself up as king opposes Caesar 13 So when Pilate heard this statement he brought Jesus outside. And he sat down on the judges bench in a place called The Stone Pavement but in Hebrew Gabbatha. 14 Now it was the day of Preparation for the Passover and it was about six a.m. Then he said to the Jews Look Your king 15 But they shouted Take Him away Take Him away Crucify Him Pilate said to them Shall I crucify your king We have no king but Caesar the chief priests answered. 16 So then he handed Him over to them to be crucified. The Crucifixion They took Jesus and led Him away. 17 And carrying His cross He went out to an area called Skull Place which in Hebrew is called Golgotha. 18 There they crucified Him and two others with Him one on either side with Jesus in the middle. 19 Pilate also had a sign lettered and put on the cross. And the inscription was Jesus the Nazarene the King of the Jews. 20 Therefore many of the Jews read this sign because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city and it was written in Hebrew Greek and Latin. 21 Then the Jewish chief priests said to Pilate Dont write The King of the Jews but This fellow said I am the King of the Jews. 22 Pilate replied What I have written I have written 23 So when the soldiers had crucified Jesus they took His clothes and divided them into four parts a part for each soldier. They also took the tunic but the tunic was seamless woven in one piece from the top. 24 So they said to one another Lets not tear it but toss for it to see who gets it. This was to fulfill the Scripture which says
