58 Chapter 18 26 And I made Your Name known to them and will make it known so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them and I in them. Jesus Betrayed and Arrested 1When Jesus had said these things He went out with His disciples across the Kedron ravine where there was a garden which He and His disciples entered. 2 Now Judas His betrayer also knew the place because Jesus often met there with His disciples. 3 So Judas took a detachment of soldiers and some temple police from the chief priests and Pharisees and came there with lanterns torches and weapons. 4 Then Jesus knowing everything that was going to happen to Him went out and said to them Who is it youre looking for 5 Jesus the Nazarene they answered Him. I am He Jesus told them. And Judas His betrayer was also standing with them. 6 So when He told them I am He they shrank back and fell to the ground. 7 Then He asked them again Who is it youre looking for Jesus the Nazarene they said. 8 I told you that I am He Jesus replied. So if youre looking for Me let these men go. 9 This was to fulfill the statement which He had made Of those You have given Me I have not lost one. 10 Then Simon Peter who had a sword drew it struck the high priests servant and cut off his right ear. The servants name was Malchus. 11 So Jesus said to Peter Sheathe your sword Shall I not drink the cup which the Father has given Me Jesus Appears Before Annas 12 Then the detachment of soldiers the captain and the Jewish temple police arrested Jesus and tied Him up. 13 They first led Him away to Annas for he was the fatherinlaw of Caiaphas who was high priest that year. 14 Now it was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it was advantageous that one man should die for the people. 18
